It was a VERY cold afternoon in central Bern on Saturday, January 10, when 30 activists took turns kneeling in one of the gray prisoner cages; to representing one of the Gitmo prisoners in orange chained to a column at the entrance to the railway station, holding a sign with name and fate of selected prisoners; to approaching people and asking them to sign our postcard to Obama and a letter taking up the recent urgent action for Omar Khadr.
We are quite happy with the result: the public showed a lot of interest and strong support, many cards got signed, we could involve a good number of (new) youth activists. The location proved to be an excellent choice as a steady flow of protest marchers arrived in Bern to attend demonstration against the war in the Gaza strip this afternoon.

How about if we do close quantanamo we send all these terrorists to live with these protestors. You say that they have human rights but what about the rights and liberties of the thousands of americans they took. You know something the problem with this world is rights activist that are more worried about making things the way they want them, then they are living their life. if everyone would mind their own business then we would be a lot better of and personally i think we should bring back public hangings because it would cut down on a lot of the crime. Instead of treating them better then regular people with jobs. all you activists get a life and if your that worried about these people we should send them to your house.
They may be prisoner’s, but they have rights too, Would you put a murderer from the states in Gitmo? NO So why should they suffer like they are?
