Riga Pride march passes off successfully

#balticpride - Baltic LGBT rights groups united on TwitpicThe first ever Baltic Pride march has concluded successfully.

Participants are now listening to speeches from the stage in the park in and around which the march took place.

Amnesty International’s John Dalhuisen told the crowd “we’re proud to be marching with you here today. It’s a march and a celebration.

    Next year we will shout in Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian - much louder than the others can!

    It was amazing and surprising to get protection from the police for us (attenders from Turkey)But I think we should really try to find a way to include transgenders. Other than that thanks for financing us. It was such an experience. By the way you are all welcome to Istanbul LGBT pride week which will be held between 22-28 of June, the march will take place at 28th.
