100 days march in Washington D.C.

In a joint action with Witness Against Torture on 30 April, approximately 200 people marched from the US Capitol to the White House to mark President Obama’s first 100 days in office.
The march was organized for the day after the launch of Amnesty International’s assessment of President Obama’s first 100 days in office in the report USA: Mixed messages: Counter Terror and Human Rights: President Obama’s first 100 days.

    To whom this may concern,
To the owner of this blog:
I cannot put into words how pleased, satisfied and contented I am for seeing that people actually care about closing Guantanamo’s base. Indeed, much has been achieved. However, a lot more is due to come and in our fight for freedom, hope and liberty one can never quit, one can never lose faith: for the matter in our hands is human lifes: simply, and yet intricate.
I am also sad because I am a Brazilian teenager and so I cannot take part in these actions around the world, but you guys who do it are really my one and only sorce of inspiration, thank you for being you.
I hope someday, after I graduate from college, I am able to work for UN and make a difference, no matter how little, on this big world of ours. Thank you for your attention and keep up with the good work!
