Large activism event held outside US embassy on 11 January. Activists wore masks of pictures of remaining Guantánamo detainees. These masks were presented to the US ambassador at the embassy by former Guantánamo detainee Murat Kurnaz who was also one of the speakers at the event.

We organized a march Sunday January 11th 2009 to close Guantanamo in Montréal (Québec) Canada. It was a very cold day and we were lucky to get around 50 activists, even children, to support our action.
As Omar Khadr is a Canadian citizen, he is of importance to all of us so we were holding mask of Omar during the whole march. We only distributed some pamphlets because it was too cold to ask to sign the petition. The media coverage was intense, which we are happy about it.
We could not take too much pictures and videos as my camera froze. But we will try to do a short video for youtube with what we got.
